Montagne de Tigneux
Between sky and snow, the purity of a beautiful powder day.
With David, Nat & Aude.
The heavy snowfalls of the past week give us a plump, rounded mountain. The Montagne de Tigneux in the Belledonne massif has wide, gentle slopes that make it possible to manage the risk properly when snow conditions are as marked as today.
The climb is peaceful in this sparkling vastness. The bittersweet atmosphere combines spring in the air with beautiful winter snow.
And suddenly, the familiarity of the surrounding massifs dissolves into the infinity of a sea of clouds lapping at the mountain. Drawn into this new dimension, our snow-dusted ship seems to want to cross this cotton-wool ocean.
The silent agitation of these waters calms down and settles a few hundred metres below, offering a stretch of sky-high skiing!
The powder flies and our two telemarkers make it sublime with the grace of their curtsies.
A few more turns in the sun and we dive into this ocean, which stays bottomless powder.
