Mountaineering in the Oisans

A knife-edge interlude in the heart of the Oisans.

With Philippe

Philippe, with whom I had already had the opportunity to share a day in the mountains, is a great lover of the wild Oisans. Together, we cast off for a beautiful journey in the Oisans between the Selle valley and the Soreiller cirque.

The first day is devoted to escaping the scorching heatwave to enjoy the cool of altitude. Off to the Selle hut after a long walk up a valley, as the Oisans often has in store for us.

The next day we visit the Pointe Thorant via the very beautiful Plaques Rouges route; we are alone there and make the most of this first beautiful day. The atmosphere on this route is already impressive because of its steepness, and the rock is excellent, which makes the climbing pleasant.

After a second night at the Selle hut, with its fabulous welcome, we leave this beautiful valley via the north ridge of the Pointe d'Amont, a complete rock route that alternates technical steps and sharp, airy passages on very good rock, finally coming out, after 500m of climbing, on the Aiguille Centrale du Soreiller. A classic that deserves its reputation! We loved it.

On the last day we savour the delicious south face of the emblematic Aiguille Dibona via the very beautiful Berthet - Boell - Stofer combination, which weaves through this ocean of granite in a logical and beautiful way.

A huge thank you to Philippe for these beautiful timeless days, and well done for your motivation!
