Tête de la Maye - Pujolidal
A lovely classic on the Tête de la Maye, all on friction.
With Adrienne & Tom.
Adrienne and Tom, from Holland, are finishing their holiday in La Bérarde and want to climb a route on the Tête de la Maye, which has towered over them since the beginning of their stay. We choose Pujolidal, a classic and very beautiful grade-5 route with a magnificent second-to-last pitch.
As its name suggests, the theme is stealthy friction and other delicate placements. The first pitches let you find your bearings. Adrienne and Tom quickly take in this particular style and climb with a good feel.
A slightly steeper pitch nevertheless wakes up the climber dozing on his friction holds. Adrienne even treats us to a nice little fall.
The route ends on a high note with a magnificent pitch along a beautiful flake, where the climbing requires imagination and contortions. All things considered, you'd almost think you were in the US!
The Tête de la Maye offers a central panorama over the Etançons valley, the Bonne Pierre valley and the Pilatte valley. A treat for the eyes.
A great day with good rope partners, attentive and curious. Next time, we'll speak Dutch. Dank u wel!
